Today we honor those who have gone before us in a glorious way. To be a saint is to live in the spirit of the Beatitudes. We too are invited to model our lives on the spirit and promises of the Beatitudes which are not a judgment against all who fail to measure up. Rather, they are a blessing for any who consents to join themselves to God’s kingdom. We are called to become single-hearted disciples of Jesus. We are called to be witnesses of God’s love to others, especially to those in need. We are called to be saints.
