Dear Parish Family,
I am sure all of you have heard about the latest news regarding the Catholic Church in Georgia. The Attorney General of Georgia is investigating both dioceses in Georgia (Savannah and Atlanta). We are fully cooperating with the investigation that Attorney General Carr is implementing. Archbishop Gregory asked for this last year and the State Attorney General has decided to move forward. I fully believe that the more we cooperate with this effort of full disclosure and transparency the more we can be a place of healing and continue to remain vigilant in protecting those around us from these actions. We need the light of God to shine on all to move forward.
Since August 2018 I formed a Pastoral Response Team to look into how we, as a parish, respond to the issues in the Catholic Church. The group has been meeting and has asked me to sit down and chat with you all in what we are calling “Conversations with Fr. Eric” (5/8). The first night will be one of prayer, sharing and listening. The following two sessions (5/15 and 5/22) will be responding to questions presented by those at the first session. Please make time to come and be a part of this effort to move forward and seek healing from our Lord and God.
If you have received an email “From Prince of Peace” asking for money please recognize this as spam and delete immediately. It is a hack that is happening with a lot of surrounding parishes. We are taking the proper precautions to prevent that from happening. Thank you for your understanding!
May God bless us and may Mary intercede for us in this endeavor as a parish family.
Fr. Eric J. Hill
